Qiangshari Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It was named by Lin Baoyu in 1989. The type section is located at the southwest slope, approximately 1 km southeast of Kede Village, Pazhuo District, Dingri County, Xizang Zizhiqu. Xia Daixiang et al. (1997) regarded this formation as synonym with Shiqipo Fm. We retain this formation herein tentatively for further investigation.

Lithology and Thickness
Lower part, 5 m in thickness, consists of gray thick-bedded argillaceous banded limestone. Upper part, about 2 m thick, is composed of grayish violet thin-layered shale intercalated with brown thin-bedded limestone. The thickness varies considerably and may reach up to 22.5 m.

The formation rests conformably in between the overlying Kede Fm
Regional extent
It is distributed at Dingjie to southern Dingri County.

Fossils
In the lower part, it yields rich conodont Pterospathodus amorphognathoides, P.pennatus procerus, Kockelella ranuliformis; cephalopod Xizhangoceras diviense, Michelinoceras? inflatum;and graptolite Monograptus priodon, etc. In the upper part, it bears graptolites Monograptus priodon, M. acus, Oktavites spiralis, Pristiograptus hisingeri; cephalopods Kionioceras himalayaense, Euthyocycloceras sp., etc.
